Now that a fantastic new video featuring Bethlehem Alemu has been released, I’ve decided to republish this article on this outstanding entrepreneur.

Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu and her family are the creators of SoleRebels, the popular eco-shoes brand under Bostex Plc – the footwear company they founded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

SoleRebels’ range of fair-trade certified eco-friendly shoes are hand-made using materials such as organic cotton, cruelty-free leather and recycled tires.

Their hard work and passion over the years has paid off immensely – their products are now being sold internationally by big names such as Amazon.com and Urban Outfitters among others and Bostex Plc now employs several full-time staff producing hundreds of pairs of shoes a day.

Their success has enabled them to begin construction of a new production facility which will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources, in keeping with their principles.
